an outdoor installation on the lawn of the Sherry-Butt House

Sat May 3: Cleaning day at the Sherry-Butt House. 10 a.m. (tentative date)

Tues May 6: VCHS program at the Vernon County History Center, 7 p.m.
Local historian Larry Scheckel will present his new program,
“The Amish in Wisconsin”.

Thurs May 8: Genealogy class† meets at the Vernon County History Center, 10 a.m.
Teacher Karen Sherry will talk about genealogy websites
that can help family history researchers.

Sat May 10: VCHS Grill-out at Nelson Agri-Center in Viroqua. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This grill-out will be a fundraiser for our heat and air-conditioning project.

Weds May 21: VCHS Board meeting, 4:15 p.m. at the Vernon County History Center.

Sat May 24: Sherry-Butt House opens for the summer season:
open Saturdays and Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m.,
plus Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Mon May 26: History Center closed for Memorial Day

June: Culver’s Change For Change month benefits the VCHS.

June 1: Summer hours begin at the Vernon County History Center: Open Monday–Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.,
or by appointment, until Sept 30

Thurs June 12: Genealogy class† takes a trip to the Prairie du Chien
library and courthouse. Contact the History Center to sign up.
