The Vernon County Historical Society operates four historical sites:

The Vernon County Museum is open to the public.
Masks are required.

Our fall schedule is Monday through Friday, noon to 4PM.
These hours are for the months of September and October.

The Vernon County Historical Society and the Viroqua Community Theatre have partnered on a theatrical video presentation to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment:

Failure is Impossible!

The cast includes Karen Dahl, Erica Howe, Dr. Brian Lyle and Rebecca Palmer with the musical support of Jacinta Henden and Tara Lyons. The production is directed by Pam Kalinosky.

Votes for Women: A Portrait of Persistence

In the first such protest in history, women picket the White House every day from January 1917 until the 19th Amendment was ratified in August 1920. On this day, college-educated women worked the picket line.

June-August: Monday thru Friday 12-4 PM, and Saturday 10-2PM
September-October: Monday thru Friday 12-4 PM
November-March: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 12-4 PM
April-May: Monday thru Friday 12-4 PM
