Tues Feb 6: VCHS program at the Normal School Museum, 7:00 p.m. “Black Hawk War: End of the Trail” with Redmound native Maynard Cox.
Plus a short discussion about the VCHS’ 2018 budget.


Thurs Feb 8: Genealogy class† meets at the Normal School Museum at 10 a.m. Guest teacher Darlene Bankes and daughter will talk about their trip to Norway.


Tues Mar 6: VCHS program at the Normal School Museum, 7:00 p.m. “Vernon County Soldiers in the Civil War:
The Bad Axe Tigers of the 18th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry”
Presented by Pete Beckstrand.


Weds Mar 14: Genealogy class† meets at the Normal School Museum at 10 a.m. Liv Marit Haakenstad, visiting scholar from Norway.
Topic: Searching Norwegian and Norwegian-American newspapers.


April 2018: Spring hours begin at the Normal School Museum: Open Monday to Friday, noon to 4 p.m.

Wed Apr 4: Driftless Area Heritage Group meets, 11:30 a.m. at Norskedalen.


Thurs Apr 12: Genealogy class† meets at the Normal School Museum at 10 a.m. Guest teacher Karen Sherry will speak about genealogy websites.


Tues May 1: VCHS program at the museum, 7:00 p.m. “Mystery at the Vernon County Museum”
